Samaritan’s Purse: Operation Christmas Child
Samaritan’s Purse International Relief is an organization built on one of my favorite parables in the Bible. In Luke 10: 25-37 Jesus tells the tale of a Samaritan who helps a man in distress on the roadside. Then, Jesus tells us to go and do likewise. This is the goal of Samaritan’s Purse.
For over 40 years, Samaritan’s Purse has done our utmost to follow Christ’s command by going to the aid of the world’s poor, sick, and suffering. We are an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ.
My own personal experience with Samaritan’s purse is a charity project they do every year. You provide a shoebox filled with things a child would need every day, i.e. school supplies, personal hygiene items, and a small gift. Include money to cover shipping costs and they will make sure your Christmas gift reaches a child in need. Here’s the information for packing and turning in one of these boxes.
